Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the Autumn M4301 base crib offer establish a full-size mattress as included?
No. The current manufacturer offer presents mattress choices separately; a seller-specific bundle needs its own contents check.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the Autumn fit a 30.5-inch maximum full-size crib width?
No. The maker lists an outside width of 30.75 inches, so the selectable 30.5-inch product-width ceiling excludes it. This does not include space for access or conversion work.
Explore this need in the finder →Are manufacturer-documented wheels part of the Autumn M4301 full-size crib setup?
No. Neither the current product page nor the exact M4301 instructions documents casters for the full-size crib arrangement; check the exact edition rather than inferring wheels from another model.
Explore this need in the finder →The DaVinci Autumn M4301 is a full-size convertible crib with a traditional high headboard, molding detail and four mattress-support positions. It is a plausible comparison for a nursery where the warmer, furniture-like silhouette matters and the listed 30.75-inch outside width fits the planned location. Its promise is not a single crib that changes by itself: the named bed configurations require later rearrangement, and the toddler and adult-bed rails are separately sold parts.
What the M4301 is, and what it is not
DaVinci's current product data groups the Chestnut M4301CT, White M4301W, Forest Green M4301FRGR and Honey M4301HY finishes under one M4301 product family. The page does not establish a functional difference among those color options, so the assessment treats them as finish variants rather than different mechanisms. Its listed assembled dimensions are 58 inches long, 30.75 inches wide and 44.75 inches high; listed assembled weight is 53 pounds. The page separately reports 52-by-28-inch interior crib dimensions. Those are product dimensions, not the clearance needed to reach inside, move the mattress, get the crib through a doorway or carry out a conversion.
The shape is more traditional than the minimal open-slat profiles elsewhere in the reviewed set: DaVinci describes a high headboard and refined molding. That appearance is the clearest reason to shortlist Autumn over the lower-profile DaVinci Birdie M25101 or the more contemporary Birdie M25141. The manufacturer describes both Autumn and Birdie as using pine, but the selected family and stated configuration are different. Styling alone does not establish comparative durability.
Count the later configurations as separate work
DaVinci markets M4301 as a four-in-one crib-to-toddler-bed, daybed and full-size-bed system. The crib itself is a full-size crib; the later full-size bed is an adult-size bed arrangement, not another full-size crib stage. The product page and manual identify toddler kit M3099 and full-size-bed kit M5789 as sold separately. Before choosing a future mode, match the exact M4301 code and the current instructions to the conversion parts on offer. A retailer's bundle or an older used listing may not contain the hardware suggested by the current product-page selector.
The present library's finder records the M4301 as full-size crib only, not as a bassinet, midi or mini setup. It is a poor fit for anyone who specifically needs one of those smaller physical configurations. Its documentation does not establish a wheeled full-size crib plan, either. The selected M4301CT image shows the crib on fixed legs; the manual's parts and instructions do not document casters. A feature pictured on a different DaVinci model should not be carried over to Autumn.
Measure the crib and the sleep surface separately
The M4301 manual specifies a full-size mattress at least 51 5/8 by 27 1/4 inches and no more than 6 inches thick, with a stated maximum 3-centimeter side-gap check. DaVinci lists four mattress-support positions and says to lower the support when the child can pull to standing. Its page lists a 50-pound maximum and a 135-pound slat-strength figure; those manufacturer numbers are not permission to exceed the crib's warnings or a substitute for checking the manual. The manual also says to stop crib use when the child starts climbing out or reaches 35 inches in height. Follow the current, exact M4301 directions rather than estimating a stage by age.
The product page offers mattresses separately, so the base crib offer does not establish that a standard full-size crib mattress is included. The staged photograph is not a package list. If a particular retailer bundles one, check its model, dimensions, firmness and contents against the M4301 instructions before treating the add-on as compatible.
Read claims as claims, not as our test results
DaVinci describes Autumn as using solid New Zealand pine plus TSCA-compliant engineered wood and identifies the product as GREENGUARD Gold certified. The page also presents an FSC-certified wood statement. These are manufacturer claims recorded from the current listing; this assessment did not independently test the materials, emissions, finish, construction strength or safety performance. Certification language is useful to identify what the manufacturer says about the product, but it does not verify every crib component, nor does it answer whether an individual used unit was repaired or damaged.
A CPSC SaferProducts.gov search for the exact M4301 model code returned an empty response in the reviewed query. That limited keyword screen is not individual-unit recall clearance. For secondhand or old stock, inspect the product and serial labels, confirm the exact model, review current CPSC notices and do not use a crib with missing, broken or loose parts.
Who should compare Autumn
Autumn is worth considering if the traditional silhouette and the possible later adult-bed path matter more than the smallest footprint, and a 30.75-inch outside width plus its separate room clearance works. It is not the narrowest full-size choice in this library: the M25101 Birdie measures 30 inches wide, but its manufacturer documents toddler-bed and daybed modes rather than a full-size bed conversion. Birdie M25141 is also 30 inches wide and does list a full-size-bed conversion, though its taller back gives it a different assembled profile. Those distinctions make the model suffix more useful than the shared brand name.
Before buying, check that the offer is one of the four exact M4301 finish SKUs; verify whether a mattress is truly in the carton; and, if a later bed matters, confirm both M3099 and M5789 against the current M4301 instructions and seller package. Measure delivery access and future reassembly space in addition to the 30.75-inch crib width. This is a source-based model assessment, not a claim of having assembled or used the crib.
