Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
What width limit admits the Frem M27301 on this finder’s half-inch grid?
DaVinci lists the crib at 30.75 inches wide. Because the finder accepts half-inch ceilings, 30.5 inches rejects the listed width and 31 inches is the first selectable maximum that admits it; allow separate room and conversion clearance.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the 4-in-1 label mean every later bed part is in the crib box?
No. The manufacturer identifies a toddler rail M19699 and full-size bed kit M5789 as separate parts, and lists a bunkie board M26058B separately as well. The full-size bed is a later adult-bed arrangement, not another crib size.
Explore this need in the finder →Is a full-size crib mattress established as included?
No. The base product page presents mattress choices separately. A seller may assemble a different bundle, so check that exact offer rather than relying on a staged product photo.
Explore this need in the finder →What the M27301 actually adds
DaVinci's Frem name covers two different full-size crib records in the current U.S. catalogue. The M27301 is the 4-in-1 configuration: the manufacturer documents the crib, a toddler bed, a daybed and a later full-size adult bed. That last stage is not a larger crib mode. It uses separate conversion equipment, so the extra stage is useful only to a household willing to track the correct parts and instructions over time. The shorter Frem 3-in-1 is a different product number, M27342; it documents toddler-bed and daybed use but not the adult-bed conversion. This assessment is about M27301, not a review that transfers hardware or limits between the two products.
A footprint to measure before ordering
The manufacturer's assembled dimensions for M27301 are 55.75 inches long, 30.75 wide and 43.25 high. It lists a 52-by-28-inch interior crib space and a 57.2-pound assembled weight. The 30.75-inch outside width is what the numeric finder compares; it is not a promise that a 30.75-inch opening or room will work. The room also needs clearance beside the crib, a safe route for delivery, space to reach it and working room if you later reconfigure it. On this site's half-inch ceiling grid, 30.5 inches is too small for the listed product width and 31 inches is the first selectable ceiling that admits it.
The M27301 manual sets a full-size crib mattress minimum of 27.25 by 51.625 inches, a six-inch thickness maximum and a side-gap limit of three centimeters. Those are fit rules for this model, not a general promise that every mattress sold as “standard” is suitable. The base product page presents mattresses as separate choices; a rendered room image with a mattress cannot establish carton contents. Check the exact seller's package and the label on any mattress against the current instructions.
Four support positions, with specific stop points
The product page lists four mattress-support positions. The M27301 instructions say to lower the support once a child can pull to standing and to stop crib use when the child begins to climb out or reaches 35 inches tall, whichever occurs first. The maker lists a 50-pound maximum for the crib and 135-pound slat strength, which are distinct specifications rather than alternatives to the manual's stop conditions. The manual also tells caregivers to check fasteners and parts and never use the crib with missing or damaged components. This desk assessment summarizes the manufacturer's documents; it does not test the frame, verify emissions or determine whether a particular child is ready for a transition.
The later bed adds cost and a compatibility question
DaVinci identifies toddler kit M19699, full-size bed kit M5789 and a bunkie board M26058B as separate components for the M27301 route. The adult bed is a sequential setup requiring its own mattress and assembly; it does not provide another crib stage. Keep the exact crib model, kit number and instructions together instead of assuming that a similar Frem or another DaVinci rail will fit.
There is a source discrepancy worth resolving before buying those parts: the current conversion-kit compatibility table's Frem 4-in-1 row shows “M20801” as its crib model, while the current Frem product page, product data and instruction manual identify the 4-in-1 crib as M27301. The exact product page itself names M19699 and M5789, but the conflicting table entry leaves a bridge to confirm. Ask the manufacturer or seller to verify compatibility against the M27301 label and request the model-specific instructions before ordering a separate rail or bed kit. The page's direct product evidence is stronger than guessing that a shared kit number fits because another crib uses it.
What the finish and certification claims establish
The manufacturer's product data groups Walnut M27301L, Honey M27301HY and Forest Green M27301FRGR under one product ID. The current record establishes color variants, not different sizes or conversion functions. The Honey photograph used here is a manufacturer front view of M27301HY; its visible fixed legs are not evidence of a mobility feature. Neither the page nor the M27301 manual documents wheels for the crib arrangement. The product page describes the frame as New Zealand pine with TSCA-compliant MDF and says the product is GREENGUARD Gold certified. Those are maker claims; this review did not independently inspect the components or certification records.
Who should keep it on the shortlist?
The M27301 makes most sense if the sculptural tapered-leg profile fits the room, a 30.75-inch-wide crib footprint works with real clearance, and the household values a documented full-size adult-bed route enough to keep multiple kits, manuals and mattresses straight. If the adult-bed conversion is not useful, compare it with M27342 rather than paying attention to the shared Frem name alone: the 3-in-1 has a narrower listed width but a different stage plan and manual. The scalloped-panel DaVinci Sofia M34501 is another distinct crib, with its own finish SKUs and 29.5-inch listed width; it is not a substitute kit or tested performance comparison.
For a new or used M27301, inspect the label and all structural hardware, compare the seller's contents with the M27301 parts list, and check current manufacturer instructions and recall notices. The exact-code CPSC query in this research returned no matching record, but a keyword query cannot clear a used, modified or old-stock unit. The practical buying decision is therefore less about the “4-in-1” count than about room fit, correct model identity and the separate parts needed for each later arrangement.
