Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the base Jayden crib offer establish an included full-size crib mattress?
No. The manufacturer presents mattress choices separately from the base crib offer; check the exact seller package rather than relying on the staged product photo.
Explore this need in the finder →Does Jayden fit a 30.5-inch maximum full-size crib width?
No. Its manufacturer-listed outside width is 31 inches, so a 30.5-inch product-width ceiling excludes it. Allow additional room for access and conversion work.
Explore this need in the finder →Are manufacturer-documented wheels part of Jayden's full-size crib setup?
No. The M5981 listing and instructions do not establish casters, and the exact White M5981W image shows fixed feet; the current finder therefore does not match it to a required wheeled crib arrangement.
Explore this need in the finder →DaVinci’s Jayden M5981 is a conventional full-size crib whose curved headboard gives it a more traditional silhouette than the straight-profile Marisol F30301 or the scalloped-apron Sammy Scallop M27801. The manufacturer lists a 58.25-by-31-by-49-inch assembled crib and a 60-pound frame. That 31-inch width matters more than the four-stage label if the room is tight: the listed frame is wider than the 29.5-inch Marisol and Sammy, and the measurement does not include room to reach in, open nearby drawers, carry a mattress, or work while changing configurations. Treat it as the crib’s outside product dimension, not a room-clearance promise.
What the four-stage name does—and does not—promise
The product page names a crib, toddler bed, daybed, and full-size bed. The included operating arrangement assessed here is the full-size crib; the other arrangements require separate decisions and parts. DaVinci’s M5981 manual identifies the toddler conversion rail as M3099 and says it is not included. For the adult-size bed conversion, the manual identifies separately sold M5789 rails. These accessories do different jobs: the twin/full-size bed is not an additional full-size crib stage, and the product title does not mean four complete pieces of furniture arrive in the base carton. Before buying an add-on, match the actual M5981 model code and finish with the kit and the instructions. A similar-looking DaVinci rail from another family is not enough evidence of fit.
The official offer presents mattress and conversion-kit selections separately from the base crib, and the M5981 instructions set the mattress requirements. That makes a bundle or seller-specific package worth checking line by line: the crib itself is not evidence that a mattress, M3099 rail, or M5789 rails are in the carton. The standard crib mattress must be at least 51 5/8 by 27 1/4 inches, no thicker than six inches, and fit within the manual’s gap warning. Use the correct mattress for the current mode rather than treating an adult-bed mattress or a toddler configuration as the same product setup.
Dimensions and instructions are more useful than a stage count
Jayden’s outside width is 31 inches; its listed assembled length is 58.25 inches and height is 49 inches. DaVinci also gives an interior measurement of 52 by 28 inches, four mattress-support positions, a 135-pound slat-strength claim, and a 50-pound maximum weight for the crib. Those manufacturer figures answer different questions: the 31-inch dimension helps screen the frame against a measured doorway or room plan, while the interior measurement and manual’s limits govern the sleep surface. Do not use the inside opening as the outside footprint, and do not assume an interior mattress number replaces the exact mattress label and gap check in the manual.
The manual directs the assembler to use two people, a Phillips screwdriver, and no power screwdriver; it also cautions against substituting parts and asks users to check fasteners and hardware. This is a large furniture build, not evidence that assembly is effortless. The maker says the mattress support should be lowered when the child can pull to standing and crib use should stop when the child begins to climb out or reaches 35 inches. The conversion pages contain separate warnings for later modes. Follow the instructions for the mode actually assembled; do not transfer a crib limit to a later bed, or vice versa.
Material and appearance claims stay manufacturer claims
The current Jayden product page describes a curved back, simple slats, solid New Zealand pine, and GREENGUARD Gold certification. Those are the manufacturer’s descriptions and certification claim, not conclusions from our own materials analysis, emissions testing, durability trial, or crib inspection. Wood grain and finish can vary, and the product page’s live variant list is the better place to identify the seller’s actual finish. The local reference image is the White M5981W crib; it shows the mattress staged in the frame, but that photograph is not a package inventory.
Who should keep Jayden on the shortlist?
Jayden makes most sense as a comparison candidate when the room can accommodate its listed 31-inch width and you value its curved-back design plus a documented route to later toddler and adult-size bed configurations. It is not the narrowest DaVinci option in this reviewed group: Marisol and Sammy Scallop list 29.5-inch widths, while Jenny Lind M7391 lists 29 inches and has a different spindle-and-caster design. Those are useful dimensional and functional comparisons, not a ranking or a claim that one crib suits every home. If the first-stage footprint, included mattress, or included transition hardware is essential, check the exact seller package before treating the bundle selector as standard contents. No hands-on assembly, fit, or performance test is claimed here; this assessment compares the manufacturer’s page, product data, and manual.
