Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
What is the first selectable finder width that admits Liam's full-size crib frame?
Delta lists the Liam W104130 width as 53.75 inches. The finder accepts half-inch values, so 53.5 inches excludes it and 54 inches is the first selectable ceiling that admits the listed width. This is the crib's outside dimension, not room, doorway, access or conversion clearance.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the standard full-size crib mattress come with the Liam crib?
No. Delta states the standard-size crib mattress is sold separately. Booklet A describes the compatible mattress fit as at least 27 1/4 by 51 5/8 inches and no thicker than 6 inches; those measurements do not mean a seller's box or bundle includes that mattress.
Explore this need in the finder →What should be checked before converting a Liam W104130 to a toddler bed or daybed?
The linked Booklet A identifies toddler guardrail style W173726 and sets a 15-month minimum age and 50-pound maximum for toddler-bed use. Delta says that guardrail is sold separately and describes a daybed/sofa rail as included, but actual package contents were not inspected. The booklet requires a conversion rail for toddler-bed mode and says not to use its daybed/sofa setup without the conversion rail. Match the exact crib-end label to the supplied booklet and verify every required part before assembly.
Explore this need in the finder →This is a source-based assessment of the U.S. babyGap Liam W104130, not a hands-on review. I did not assemble, own or test a sample, and I did not inspect a retail carton. The conclusions below come from Delta Children’s exact product records and its linked Booklet A. The current Cribs collection record identifies Sage Green and Natural, SKU W104130-368. A separate Delta product-detail record retains Bianca White and Natural W104130-1516 and Ebony and Natural W104130-1518; Delta’s page said that separate listing was no longer available when checked. The broader color copy says Black/Natural, while that exact older variant page identifies Ebony and Natural, so check SKU and UPC rather than inferring the finish from general copy. Those older finish records preserve their own variant IDs and UPCs, but I found no functional or dimensional difference that warrants treating them as another crib mechanism.
A full-size crib with a clearly bounded footprint
Delta lists the Liam at 53.75 inches wide, 37.5 inches high and 29.5 inches deep, with a product weight of 51.7 pounds. Its listed width is 3.5 inches less than the Caden example below, which makes it worth comparing when a nursery is tight. On this site's half-inch width scale, a 53.5-inch ceiling is too small for the published 53.75-inch frame; 54 inches is the first selectable ceiling that includes it. That comparison is strictly the crib's outside dimension. It does not leave space for a person to reach in, furniture nearby, delivery through a doorway, assembly or the room needed to change configurations. Measure both room axes, the approach route and the finished setup yourself rather than treating a product-width match as proof of room fit.
Compared with another Delta option already assessed here, the Simmons Kids Caden W348150 is listed at 57.25 inches wide, 3.5 inches wider than Liam. Caden adds a trundle drawer and more named conversions, while Liam has four named configurations. Both have separate standard crib mattresses; neither staged image proves a mattress bundle.
Four named configurations, reassembled one at a time
The manufacturer documents a full-size crib, toddler bed, daybed and sofa. This is not four simultaneous surfaces, nor does the “4-in-1” label establish a mini crib, bassinet, midi crib or later adult full-size bed. The same frame is changed between stages. The page says the daybed/sofa rail is included and identifies toddler guardrail W173726 as sold separately. Booklet A also describes a conversion rail as necessary for the toddler-bed procedure and for the daybed/sofa setup; its text identifies W173726 as the toddler guardrail for this crib. Because those parts are not interchangeable by name and I did not inspect the contents of a physical box, check the frame-end label against its own supplied booklet and verify every rail and fastener before starting a conversion. A retailer bundle or used crib may be missing components even when the original product page described a rail as included.
The manual says not to use the toddler bed before 15 months and sets a 50-pound maximum; it also directs the user to the lowest mattress-support position for that setup. Follow the exact child's needs, crib label and accompanying instructions. For the crib itself, lower the support when the child can pull to standing and stop using the crib if the child starts climbing out or reaches 35 inches tall, whichever happens first.
Mattress, support positions and materials
A standard-size crib mattress is sold separately. The linked booklet specifies a mattress at least 27 1/4 by 51 5/8 inches, no more than 6 inches thick. Those are fit limits, not proof that a mattress is in a particular retailer's package. Check the actual mattress dimensions and crib warnings before use. Delta lists three mattress-support positions. The manual also cautions that with the support at its highest setting, the top of the front rail must stay at least 3 inches above the top of the mattress; if it does not, the support and mattress should move to the next lower position. When a child can pull to standing, the manual calls for the lowest position. This kind of height adjustment is a practical early-stage feature, but it does not substitute for checking the exact mattress and assembly.
Delta describes the crib as GREENGUARD Gold certified and JPMA certified, and says it uses New Zealand pine, poplar and TSCA-compliant engineered wood. Those are manufacturer claims rather than measurements or tests conducted for this assessment. A narrow SaferProducts.gov search for W104130 returned an empty response, but that query is not a complete model, lot or serial search and is not a recall clearance or safety determination.
Who should keep it on the shortlist?
Liam is a reasonable research candidate when the required first setup is a full-size crib, a documented path to toddler bed/daybed/sofa is useful, and the listed 53.75-inch width is within the measured product-width limit. It is a poor fit if the purchase must include the standard mattress, if a mini or bassinet arrangement is essential, if you need an adult-bed conversion, or if a wheeled crib is a requirement. Its lower listed width does not remove the need to plan clearance. The source record is also explicit about the separately sold W173726 toddler guardrail, while the actual package, rail revision and physical-unit booklet remain unverified here. Before buying or accepting a used unit, check the W104130 style and lot label, finish/SKU, supplied instructions, mattress, and every part needed for the arrangement you intend to assemble.
