A useful fit for

A plausible fit for a household that values an included bassinet and standard crib path, has room for a 53.5-by-29.75-inch eventual crib, and is willing to source separate kits for midi and full-size-bed stages.

The main tradeoff

The nine-stage count spans three purchase configurations: five included arrangements plus separate M30879 midi and M5789 full-size-bed kits. Stage changes require reassembly and the standard full-size mattress is separate.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can Rolli start as a bassinet and later become a standard crib?

Yes. Babyletto lists both arrangements among the five included configurations. The listed full-size crib footprint is 53.5 by 29.75 inches, so plan for that final size even if the bassinet comes first.

Does the advertised nine-stage Rolli include the midi and full-size-bed parts?

No. Babyletto describes five included conversions; the M30879 midi kit adds three arrangements and the M5789 kit adds the full-size-bed stage, both sold separately. Match kit model and finish to the exact M30880 SKU.

Is the standard full-size crib mattress part of the package?

No. The standard mattress is separate. The M30880 instructions specify at least 51 5/8 by 27 1/4 inches and no more than six inches thick; use the exact manual and check fit rather than substituting a close-looking mattress.

Are wheels documented in the midi crib setup?

The M30879 instructions tell the assembler to reuse the casters retained from the M30880 crib/bassinet conversion. That supports the midi crib arrangement, but does not establish wheels for every toddler-bed, daybed, junior-bed, or full-size-bed setup.

The Rolli M30880 is a staged crib system whose “9-in-1” label describes the whole conversion family, not nine setups supplied in one carton. Babyletto identifies five included arrangements—bassinet, full-size crib, full-size toddler bed, full-size daybed and junior bed. A separately sold M30879 kit adds three midi arrangements, and a separate M5789 kit adds a full-size bed. This is a document-based assessment of the US listings and instructions, not a hands-on review.

Check the kit count before comparing packages

The five included Rolli arrangements cover a bassinet-to-standard-crib path and later bed modes. The M30879 adds a midi crib, midi toddler bed and midi daybed; the M5789 is needed for the full-size bed. Those are distinct accessory purchases, so a listing that says “9-in-1” does not establish that either extra kit is in the seller’s box. If the midi step is central to your choice, look for the exact M30879 model and finish-matched SKU. If you want the full-size bed arrangement, verify the M5789 separately. For a used or open-box unit, check for the original rails, fasteners and instructions rather than relying on a model name alone.

The manufacturer lists Natural Walnut (M30880NL), Honey (M30880HY), White (M30880W) and Washed Natural (M30880NX) on the main M30880 product record. Its retail-exclusive listing adds Blonde (M30880BD). The second listing uses the same M30880 manual and lists the same full-size dimensions and core arrangements, so the evidence supports treating Blonde as a finish variant of the same crib family—not as a separate mechanism. The midi kit has its own matching finish codes, including M30879BD for Blonde.

Start with the final crib footprint

Babyletto gives the assembled full-size crib as 53.5 inches long by 29.75 inches wide by 34 inches high, with a 52-by-28-inch interior and an assembled weight of 58.7 pounds. The separate M30879 listing gives its midi crib as 37.5 by 29.75 by 34 inches and 26.5 pounds. The exact-model M30880 dimension graphic shows the bassinet at 29.75 by 20 by 34 inches. These footprints describe the furniture, not the work area or room clearance needed to assemble and convert it. Measure the eventual standard crib footprint, the route through doorways, and access to nearby drawers before choosing by the smaller first-stage dimensions.

The Rolli is listed at 29.75 inches wide, compared with 31 inches for Pogo. Palma’s product text says 30 inches but its exact-model dimensions graphic says 31, so use 31 inches conservatively until that discrepancy is resolved. That width difference matters only if your measured limit is tight; it does not establish that any product fits your specific room, and a wall-to-wall measurement should include extra clearance for access and conversion.

Separate the sleep surfaces and movement claims

The full-size crib mattress is not included. The M30880 manual requires a standard crib mattress at least 51⅝ inches long by 27¼ inches wide, no more than six inches thick. The included bassinet pad is a separate one-inch surface; never treat it as a substitute for the standard mattress or add extra padding to the bassinet. The optional midi kit includes its own two-inch pad. Its manual calls for a manufacturer-provided surface at least 35.75 by 28 inches, no more than four inches thick, and says not to use it if the gap to the side walls exceeds one inch. Check the exact stage manual and the seller’s contents before purchasing a replacement or secondhand package.

Casters are documented for the bassinet and standard crib in the M30880 instructions, and the M30879 instructions tell the assembler to retain and reuse caster parts when converting to midi crib. That evidence is narrower than saying every Rolli bed rolls: I did not find the same caster setup documented for each toddler bed, daybed, junior bed or full-size bed. Treat the casters as a mode-specific feature, lock them as instructed, and do not infer that the whole system is a travel crib.

Use the stop rules for the mode in front of you

The M30880 manual says to stop bassinet use at 17.5 pounds or earlier if the child can roll, sit, stand or kneel, or begins pushing up on hands and knees. Its full-size crib warning says to stop when the child begins climbing out or reaches 35 inches in height. The junior-bed warning specifies a minimum intended age of 15 months and a maximum weight of 50 pounds; the M30879 instructions separately set a 50-pound ceiling for its midi toddler-bed and daybed arrangements. These are not one blanket capacity for all nine configurations. Follow the complete warning language for the exact arrangement and never let the marketing stage count replace the manual.

Who may value the Rolli—and its tradeoffs

The Rolli can make sense for a household that wants an included bassinet and full-size crib path, has room for its eventual footprint, and expects to use at least some later stages. Its more compact width may distinguish it from nearby All-Stages models, while the squared spindles and straightforward form make the frame visually different from the curved Pogo or tapered-leg Palma. But conversion means taking the structure apart and rebuilding it, keeping the manuals and unused hardware, and managing pads that are not interchangeable. Buying every advertised stage requires separate kit planning; the full-size mattress remains another separate item.

Babyletto describes the product as portable and advertises GREENGUARD Gold certification; those are manufacturer statements, not independent findings about practical mobility, assembly, durability or product safety. This review did not assemble, move or test the crib. A CPSC search by “Rolli” returns unrelated items and is a keyword screen, not lot-level recall clearance; inspect the exact product label and check the current CPSC recall database, especially before buying a used unit.

Verify the exact M30880 package

Before ordering, match the full M30880 finish SKU, check whether the offer includes only the five base arrangements or also the M30879 and/or M5789, and confirm the expected bassinet pad and hardware. The official M30880 listing, main manual, M30879 kit page and midi manual are the primary checks for the exact configuration. Availability, retailer package contents, returns and current prices were not evaluated.
